Antarctica nodded, feeling a little more relieved that they agreed with her, although she wouldn't be entirely relaxed until they reached safety. She smiled reassuringly at Phantom. "Don't worry, I can lead the way back to the dens. Let's stick together." With that, she would up and rise, leading them back toward the dens through the grasses. At a steady pace, it wouldn't take long, and soon the caves would be looming before them, the silhouettes of some other wolves playing about in the front visible.

Ooc: Hope it's not dead even though it says September ps really like this thread!
iC: Midnight alighted down outside of the clearing. She had been gone awhile, and was already dark. As she landed, she smoothed her turquoise bandanna down, then fluffed her wings out and laid them on her side. Almost instantly after she stepped into the clearing the smell hit her: a newcomer. Immediately she was interested, and started sniffing and asking who and where they were. Midnight had a natural curiosity; it was puppy-like and it matched her smallish size. Finally she realized they had already gone out to explore the forest. She decided to wait until they came back, and until then, she would restlessly pace the clearing impatiently.

Ooc: yes this forum is still ongoing. We were just waiting for Mal to post. He has been quite busy lately and hasn't had the time to post. So, I don't know how long it will be. Antarctica might reply and I will after her, but I am waiting for him :3

Just before they head back, or just as they begin walking towards the dens, Maelathorta cannot help but notice Phantom frightened by the owl's cry. She bumps into him, making him shift the paws on the other side of his body subtly to keep from falling over. With her on the ground, blushing beneath her fur, he smiles gently and noses at her belly, lightly lifting up with his snout. This is supposed to somewhat help her up, but mostly it's just intended to encourage her to stand again. When she stands up, he offers for her to lean on him if she needs to. He does this by lightly brushing his shoulder and neck against hers. ((Mmrrh... not as long as I'd like it to be, but it will have to do...))

OoC: Hey, Midnight... I don't necessarily mind you joining in but since your character isn't a member of the Shinkou pack, nor is she familiar with all of its members, per say, I don't think she would know right off there is a new member, neither would she be able to waltz right in so easily and act like she is a member. Remember that Shinkou, while currently peaceful and welcoming of others, is still a guarded and powerful pack. Please keep this in mind.
iC:
Antarctica stopped when necessary to stay with Mael and Phantom, not wanting them to fall behind. Besides, she felt somewhat responsible for them. And in a way, she was. She smiled slightly at their mannerisms around each other. It was nice to see that in the two. Soon, they were approaching the dens and some of the pups of the pack bounded up to her, dancing around her giggling and playing. They said their happy words of welcome and some even nuzzled up to her. She loved every moment of it, reminded of when her own children were so young.
She beckoned for Mael and Phantom to make themselves comfortable, and it was then an unfamiliar scent was reaching her nostrils. Clearly, yet another lone wolf had joined them, somewhere in the area. She looked around, trained eyes searching. Antarctica was in a way a matron of the pack, and she was typically very welcoming to anyone. She was hardly bothered, moreso curious. She didn't have any sort of weird feeling in her gut or sense of danger. So she didn't think there was much to worry about.
Ears perked, senses alert, her pretty voice drifted on the air. "And who might you be, young one?"

Phantom got up of the ground and shook out her fur. She followed Antarctica's lead the rest of the way. She couldn't help but think of how the other wolves would react to her. Some might welcome her with open paws like Antarctica and Mal. But she was afraid some might become angry that she has just decided to join the pack. The only wolves she had known before now was her own family. Before she could come up with any excuses, all the scents of the wolves' filled her nostrils. There were pups and elders, wolves her age...And there were so many. Here pack was only two families, 8 wolves. And there were one, two three, four, five, seven, ten, thirteen...she couldn't even keep track. She for Mal to show her where to go or who to meet. Or even to a den where they could sleep. Their were so many choices.

Mal walks quietly beside Phantom, watching her closely as they head back to the dens. When he catches her eye, he looks away bashfully, embarrassed to be caught staring. Still though, when she looks away again he is inexorably drawn back into watching her walk, admiring the shiny ripple of her fur, the slight deformation of the surface as muscles flex lightly beneath, and before he knows it, they're back at the pack. He's still gazing upon her form as they stop, and he doesn't even notice that he's leaning in to rub his face on her neck until it's too late to stop. One he's doing it, though, he doesn't want to stop, and just gently nuzzles her neck for a moment. After several bliss-filled moments of this, he snaps out of it and sits up straight, unable to keep from smiling at her as he looked about for something to do. "Erm... is there anyone you think you should meet before going to sleep? It's awfully late, so we'll probably only get in one visit." he asks, wanting to get as much done as possible before they settled down for the night. Now, it may be known that many wolves are nocturnal, but he is not. His very element makes him too active during the day for him to sleep. ((Done.))

((Lox: ok, i posted that when i was new, and didn't have a clue. xD i guess ill just say that…i joined about 5min ago. Joined shinkou, that is. Sorta like phantom )) iC: Midnight looked up at the sound of the voice. She was afraid someone would ask her that. She didn't belong here, and the wolf seemed to know that. She walked calmly over, trying to look as if she knew she was supposed to be there. When she was in front of them, she said quietly, "I'm Midnight. I…just joined. Well came here, more like it."

OoC: Sorry for my absence, guys DX
iC:
It seemed their curiosity of who to chat with was answered as the foreign wolf approached. Antarctica was glad she had. It made it easier than having to seek her out. She raised a slight brow. It was not in Antarctica's nature to be harsh when it was uncalled for. She was typically kind and welcoming to anyone. But she had a weird feeling. In fact, she was quite certain that this wolfess before her was not a member of the pack by any means, not even recently joined. But she would not question her integrity so swiftly. Instead, she would give her a chance.
"I see, Midnight." She paused. "Well, then, welcome to Shinkou. I hope you find yourself at home here."
She glanced at Phantom and Mal. The two seemed to be getting along quite nicely and she smiled. "Phantom, it seems you and Midnight are both new. Perhaps you might find yourselves become well acquainted?" She trotted off a ways, some of the pups bounding around her and telling her some of their discoveries during the day. She wagged her tail and entertained them, asking them questions and listening to their words. She truly was a matron of the pack.

Phantom could smell something when she reached the pack. They all smelled different but at the same time, almost exactly alike. She could tell pups from wolves her age, but they all had some of the same sent mixed in with their own. But there was one wolf that smelled nothing like the rest. A new wolf, just like me, she thought. Just as fast as she smelled her, she could see her. She is pretty, and looks to be Phantom's age. Something inside of her clicks, she doesn't know what it is, but it feels weird; sad and mad at the same time. Like she might loose something close to her. She doesn't like the feeling. She moves closer to Mal. Then she gets it. She's jealous. Jealous of the newcomer, that she might steal Mal away from her. But why? Mal and her are just friends, or are they?
Phantom snaps back into reality when Antarctica mentions that the two should become 'acquainted.' Phantom looks up. Well she seems okay so far. But it's better to be safe then sorry. "Well, I for one am tired. Me and Mal were thinking about finding a den to sleep in. But your welcome to come." Phantom then looks to Mal for him to lead her to a den to sleep in, hoping the newcomer won't take a liking to Mal.

Wow, is it finally my turn to respond? :P The sun is nearly set and Mal's glowing necklace is beginning to wane already with the decrease in light. He briefly gazes off that way, thinking back on his day. It had been fairly eventful, excepting the minor skirmishes he skirted around whilst passing information between the packs and groups. Then there was this. Meeting the newcomer, Phantom. Already he could feel something new happening. He sensed her loss even just after meeting her, and although most of the wolves he's met have lost something, he felt the need to make up for Phantom's loss, the need to help her fill in that gap. This feeling only grew with each moment passed that he spent with her... and now he was going to take her to a den. Should he distance himself? He's not sure... Perhaps it would be best if he went back to his own pack.
Looking away from the diminishing glow of the sun, his eyes return to Phantom, and his thoughts are even more muddled... The conflict he feels is starting to frighten him, and he knows it only grows more when he's near her. His tail slowly lowers throughout this entire thought process, until it is just about straight down. He notices Phantom talking and shakes his head before adding, "Yeah, we need to go to the dens soon. If you're feeling tired, you're welcome to join us." At this point, he waits a moment for the new newcomer to make a decision before he starts to lope off in the direction of the dens, at a pace that is easy to follow.

"Jealously has no place with one so beautiful." Midnight said softly to only Phantom. "You need not to worry. My heart belongs to another." Speaking louder, she said, "I think I will follow you. There is no where else for ne to go." She said, meaning no insult. She would then accompany them to the den they chose, and lay down a good distance away from them, trying to give them as much privacy as possible. She was already planning on leaving soon.
