"Pft, your not strong enough! I could so outrun you flying!" she growled playfully. She lept at him, trying to knock his paws out from under him with a teasing bark. Forgetting the music, she would jump back if she failed and start running away; unfortunately toward the sound. If she succeeded, she would stop and laugh, saying, "Still think you can out-fly me? Well let's just see!" and run toward the music; the whole time forgetting what she just heard.

Cercius continues to play the aweful song, fingers skittering across the wooden pipe, his mind becoming a blur of natures, between human and wolf. "Almost there..." the thought arises, like embers from billowing smoke. "Just a bit more..."
Pain races down his spine to a chorus of snapping ribs and shifting organs, but he bites his tongue, halting the tune for a brief instant before a song of pain erupts from his quivering body. "No time now... I'll have to make replacements when I get back..." Half of his mind ponders, "Let me out!" the primal urge slams through his body, an audible squelch as his muscles explode and realign, reforming over his stretching bones. "Never..." he thinks back, pushing the evil back in on himself. "I'll never let you out..."
It was over... He had done it again, another safe transformation.
His black fur rises and falls in the soft wind, his clothes ripped and torn around him, other than his neatly folded jacket. He takes a deep breath, the pain fading into numb memory. "Hungry..." he thinks, lowering his head so that the ocarina slips from his neck on top of the jacket. "After We rest..." He glances around the clearing with a wolf's eyes, olive green with flecks of gold, turning blue as they reflect the light in the twilight clearing, before heaving, another contraction in his ribs, spewing scarlet blood onto the mossy dirt. "Tired...""Then we will rest here for a while..." he thinks to himself.
It was getting harder to defy the Varg within him, the impulses to satiate the feral impulses stronger, but he could manage for a while yet... "I'm not lost yet."

He smiled at her teasing, dodging her when she tried to knock him off his paws and shaking his head in amusement. She really was like a big puppy. It was cute. But then, she darted off, goading him to chase her, although the direction was not the one he had been anticipating. "Midnight! Wait..." he called after her. But clearly, she was too focused on her game. He took off after her, folding his wings to his side and running. It was easier to maneuver through the trees that way.
It wasn't long before he caught up to her, though he slowed, first catching the sound as it changed to one of pain. Instantly, his attention changed as he now moved toward the sound without so much hesitation. It was then he caught the scent, and then he could of sworn he saw something through the tree-line. Oh.. great...
He was now at a complete stop, hidden somewhat in one tree's shadow, though his white and golden form was far from invisible. He neared, trying to think quickly on how he was going to handle this. But it seemed he didn't have to worry as much as he thought. It wasn't human... it was wolf. Yet there were tattered clothes littering the ground as well as the faint smell of blood. A normal human, or a normal wolf, would perhaps automatically assume this wolf had torn apart and eaten whatever human had formerly been here. But he knew better from his own experiences. Still, he wasn't going to say anything to Midnight unless she brought it up. He wasn't sure how she would react to the whole idea of a wolf who was also a human in the same body.
"Midnight," he would call, if she wasn't already present. If she was, well then, he would move toward the... wolf. He thought after a recent transformation, a creature might want to be alone and rest. But it couldn't be helped. Fate just wasn't allowing that to happen this time. So they mine as well just deal with it.
"Hello to you, stranger.." he said aloud.

Midnight was at his side. She knew what it was, but was more curious than scared. After Ainoko said his part, she added, "What is your name?"

The black wolf's nose flares, taking in the scents around him. "Two wolves... Feathers.... Winged wolves then..." Another deep breath. "One male, one female. She is young, he is older." His mind analyses the information with the insatiable, cold curiosity that what peculiar to mankind. "Fresh blood..." He pushes the thought back inside again, opening his eyes, flashing bright blue as the light illuminates them, then he raises his head and looks directly at Ainoko."Hai Dragga." he growls, then turns to Midnight, cocking his head. "Younger than I thought." "Easy ki-No!" he nods, "Hai Drappa." He blinks, his eyes hungry. "Were you never told not to watch a changing Vulfen? Most rude..." he grumbles, standing up and taking a step closer to the two, taking a second look at the older wolf."Have I not seen you before?" he asks, his narrowing, his nose flaring again. "No... Not seen, scented. You have been to Abunage... Interesting..." he says, grinning predatorily. He glances at Midnight, then grins wider. "I am Cercius... Vulfen of the Otonami."

Ainoko nodded when 'Dragga' was said, not unfamiliar with such terms. At this one's next words, he simply shrugged. "Hardly, we actually came at the end of your transformation so you cannot accuse anyone of watching anything. In any case..."
He paused, then smiled vaguely. "Yes, I have been to the Abunage villages often." The wolf.. or vulfen, gave his name. "A pleasure to meet you, perhaps. I am Ainoko." Now came a question to his mind. He wondered if the conversation would go in the whole human direction. If it did... well, he didn't think Midnight knew his own affiliation. He had never hinted it or given her reason to think so. Oh well, it was good if she knew. Secrets were hard kept.
But she didn't know yet... so he would wait until the time was right.

"I'm Midnight. And he's right, we never saw you change." His eyes were interesting, and some what like her own. She looked him over. He was really like her, black with blue eyes. He looked hungry and tired to her, so she offered, "We caught a buck earlier, well, he did," she poked Ainoko with her nose, "if you're hungry..."

Cercius' eyes narrow again, a crafty smile spreading across his lips. "She doesn't know..." he thinks to himself, standing straighter. "Very well, I'll choose to believe you. And no, I would rather catch my OWN food..." he says, licking his lips with a slight chuckle, "More fun that way." He takes a few steps closer to the two. "Playing a dangerous game aren't you? So close to human lands?" his eyes meet Ainoko's, a challenge set. "Never know what they might find, isn't that right?"

Ainoko understood what was happening, to a point. He wasn't running like some coward though. It was true he had a shy personality... on approaching any random person, but he had seen his share of action and adventure and could certainly handle himself in a fight. More than any normal wolf. And more than one might think.
"What we do and where we go is our business. And yes, there are often all kinds of interesting surprises here." He stepped to the side, his stance protective over Midnight. He wondered what this Cercius was planning on trying... well, he had a feeling he already knew.

Cercius chuckles, padding closer still his chuckle almost an insane giggle. "Oooooh yes, yes, yes! So many, many surprises are to be had, aren't there, Drappa?" he says, his head swinging towards Midnight, eyes wide open in deep interest. "Soooo many mysteries to unravel...." he croons. He pauses, grinning, then straightens. "Turn back, humans don't take kindly to wolves. he grins at Ainoko again, "As I'm sure you know." he says, chuckling breathlessly, as if his words were the funniest thing in the world.

((OoC: not sure were this is going, just gonna put the simplist thing without changing it much.))
iC: Midnight flinched when he looked at her. "I suppose so," she mumbled to his query, dropping her eyes. She nudged Ainoko. "We need leave," she whispered fearfully. "I think he's insane."

Ainoko's eyes grew sharp as the wolf continued speaking. "You know nothing of me." He paused, "We go where we please." He glanced at Midnight when she seemed to agree with this Cercius... though for very good reasons. "As I had already suggested..." he whispered back to her.
Still, perhaps they had come here for a reason. Ainoko wasn't really a believer in coincidence. Maybe they were meant to encounter this wolf for some reason or another. He wasn't sure. But perhaps it would be smart to back out now. Yet, he didn't feel right about it. Something was amiss, sure. But this wolf had challenged him, in a manner, and he wasn't backing out of it.
Yes, some might say stupid males and their dumb pride, but he had honor, and he wasn't losing it cause of some wacko wolf like this. Still, he wasn't going to initiate any fighting... he sort of just wanted to see what would happen.

Cercius chuckles, his head cocking, "That's it little birdies! Fly away!" he barks "Fly fly little birdies! Fly from the Big. Bad. Wolf." he shouts, getting angrier by the second. "Silly little toy...""This isn't right..."
Cercius grunts, twitching his head in irritation. "Get out. Mine."

Midnight's eyed wideness, and if she were a human, she would have paled. The severity of what Cercius said sent shivers down her spine. He thought she was a toy. Bitter resentment welled up inside her. She stepped free of Ainoko and said, with an intimidating voice, "I am not anyone's plaything."
