Midnight sat on the bank of a river, bored. 'What to do, what to do,' she thought. She hoped someone would come around and amuse her. Even if it wasn't wolf. This place was boring and smelled funny. She slipped into the river and treaded water. It was actually calm. Nothing annoying; even the squirrels had shut up. A little. The sound of the water moving inbetween the river rocks sounded interesting. 'I wonder if anyone enjoys the water or the air as much as I do.' she thought. She slowly swam over to the bank and sat in the shallows. She smelled the funny scent again, and she wasn't sure if it was getting closer or not. Midnight didn't care. She just sat in the water and listened to the forest; eyes closed.

The weather was pleasant, he supposed, nothing disastrous or out of the ordinary. He loved it around here. It was wild, yet tame, as much as the humans could manage, that is. He lifted his head and breathed in the air as a breeze drifted by, a wolf's scent wafting through his nostrils. Oh... he wasn't alone. He felt himself grow curious, being as wolves ventured here only on some occasions - to his knowledge. They usually stayed clear of the humans. It had been a while since... well he pushed that aside. It was time to put his past behind him and move on. Yes, that was a good plan - in theory.
He was a handsome wolf, white with mingled tints of gold in his fur, somewhat large for a wolf, muscular and bushy. From his back protruded large, feathery golden wings and his bright golden eyes gazed forward.
It wasn't long before he reached the river bank, and he caught sight of her. She seemed to be just simply enjoying herself. He watched a moment, wondering if she might notice him or not. Then, he approached, "Greetings."

"Hi. I'm Midnight. Who are you?" She said it all quickly, sounding pup like. She was happy that a winged wolf had come and not a "normal" one. She wondered how old he was. She guessed he was old enough to be her big brother, since she was only one and-a-half. She hoped he was like a brother; not like most fluff-brained males. She tried to quiet her mind, but she was too excited. Midnight swam back across the river and slipped out beside him, not bothering to shake off. She said quickly, "I don't shake off because my fur sticks up like...like..." she ended and raced off into the woods to pick up an unusually fluffy dandelion. Then she sprinted back to the clearing and laid it down in front of him. She stepped back and sat there, panting. Her breath was ruffling her bandanna, and her white wings were still dripping. She shook mud off of her white back foot. Midnight looked up at him (he was a head taller than her) with her turquoise-eyes, wondering what he would say.

She was much friendlier than he had expected and he couldn't help feeling slightly amused at how forward she was. Well, there was nothing wrong with that. It was nice to meet someone so open for a change. "A pleasure to meet you, Midnight." He paused, "I am Ainoko." He observed as she swam toward him and emerged from the water, explaining why she didn't shake the wet from her fur and finally running off and coming back using a dandelion to indicate how her fur would look if she did. She was pretty, he found himself thinking as he finally noticed the color of her eyes when she looked up at him.
He smiled, "Oh, I don't care what you do with your own fur. But thanks for explaining"
The white and golden wolf moved toward the water, dipping his head to lap at it. It quenched his thirst. "So, what brings you here, Midnight?"

"Oh." Midnight was a little disgruntled, but got over it and started to get a plan in her mind. She grinned sheepishly. "Weeeeelll, usually I just...ya know... fly to get dry." Then she would precede to jump against his side, trying to knock him over. If he just sat there and she couldn't push him over like she thought would happen, she would keep jumping against him until she succeeded or got tired. Then she would agily jump into the air. Despite her size, she could easily use her strong back legs for bringing down prey or taking off into the air. She would then 'tread air' until he gave chase or something else she didn't expect. ((sorry for the long posting time i thought i posted yesterday DX BRAIN FART ))

OoC: No apologies necessary ^^ it really wasn't that long lol
iC:
He nodded when she explained how she dried her fur, "Sounds like two birds with one stone. Drying off and having a bit of fun. She did catch him off guard so he stumbled to the side slightly, though he got the feeling she had no ill will, only was quite playful. It was like she was still a pup in ways, he thought to himself. He chuckled slightly.
As she took to the air, her intentions were quite clear and he gave in without protest. It would feel good to stretch his wings and fly a bit. He hadn't in a bit of time he supposed.. not since... well he pushed that aside. With a gust of wind as he burst into the air, swooping as he flapped his golden wings he attempted to lunge at her in mid-air. If he were unsuccessful, he would merely fly up and wag his tail, as if teasing her to attempt to get him. But if he were, he would laugh and dart away, still taunting her to get him.

Midnight tumbled in air as he lunged at her, then righted herself and gave chase. She smelled that funny smell again but ignored it. She was having fun. She was glad he wasn't a non-fun wolf. Midnight hated those wolves, because they were in packs and always followed the rules and....ugh. But it didn't matter right now. She had to focus on flying. But that butterfly was so pretty... ((hey in the next post could he like fly low into the forest? I tots an idea... ))

He flew after her, until it seemed as though she became distracted by something. This she-wolf seemed somewhat easily distracted. He swooped, calling out to her. "Hey, watch where you're going," he said as the butterfly fluttered down into the trees, hoping Midnight wouldn't do something clumsy. He glanced up as the trees loomed closer and he swerved, narrowly missing the branches. Flying so low was dangerous and he prepared to make a landing...

Midnight jumped when she heard his voice. "I know. But it was so pretty...." it sounded whiney. She followed him into the forest quickly. Mostly becuase she didn't want to get lost, but partially becasue she thought he was handsom. Just a little. She was flying fast and turned to go around a tree when she saw he was landing, and also that she was about to hit him. She swerved to the right, narrowly avoiding him. She looked up a half-second before she hit the tree, and closed her eyes for the impact. 'I'm sorry, Ainoko,' was her last thought. Then all she could think about was excrusiating pain as her left wing smashed into the tree. Screaming, she plowed into the ground. She felt sick when she could feel the tendons rip and her bone crack. Crying out loudly and trying to stand, she fell over and moaned. She thought one of her paws was broken, but her wing hurt too bad to think about it. "Ainoko!!!" she screamed, "help me!!" Midnight was about to pass out; she knew it. 'Please come quick,' she thought. If she could just see his face, she would be o.k.

He nodded when she said it was pretty though his focus was on his flight. He glanced as he felt the wind from her swerving past him and realized where she was going. Geez this wolfess was perhaps just a little bit clumsy. He flinched at the sound of her wing hitting the tree and the thud as she hit the ground. Ainoko was already rushing over to her before she screamed out to him. To ask if she was okay would be a dumb question so he didn't. "I'm right here," he said back, "don't move. I'll see what I can do."
He had a brief flashback and pushed it aside. He wasn't going to fail her now that she needed help. This was where his human knowledge would come in handy. And his healing abilities. He looked over her wing. Well, he didn't want it healing crooked. "Midnight... I need to set the bone straight so it will heal. Can I?" he wouldn't do it without her consent. She was in a lot of pain already...

Midnight was shaking, and it showed in her voice when she said, "Just fix it." She thought she might die it hurt so bad. 'What would I do without my wings?' she thought. Pushing the thought aside, she braced her forelegs on the ground and let her head sag. "I'm a pretty bad flier. I just hope it doesn't cost me flying." she said quietly, trying to hide the pain in her voice. "I'm sorry this happened." Then the world swam; she swayed, and ended up leaning on Ainoko for support. His soft fur comforted her; she looked into his eyes and felt a little better. "Please don't let me die," she said to him, crying.

He nodded when she gave her permission and gripped her wing in his mouth. He spread his wings giving a great flap to help his tug and with a yank, she would feel the bone set straight in her wing. Now it just needed to heal. That would take time, and perhaps a little magic.. She began speaking, talking about how she was a bad flier and such. "Ssh," he told her, "Don't worry yourself. You're going to be okay. I think you're a fine flier. Otherwise, nature wouldn't have gifted you with wings."
After he said this, the sands of gold within the silver gem about his next began to swirl, glowing brighter. Swirls of gold would then begin to wrap around Midnight's wing, turning blue in color and a sound like a droplet hitting a pond's surface echoed faintly. Midnight might feel her wing grow warm, then very wet and then perhaps she might feel tired. It was up to her as each individual is different. But finally, the light faded and Ainoko sat back, looking somewhat exhausted.
"I think you need some rest now. Your wing should be okay soon..."

Midnight yelped when he set her wing. It didn't hurt that bad now. It was weird when it started to tingle, though "Thanks. I guess you are right." she said to his compliment. Pondering over her growing crush for him, she looked at both sides. All the times she had seen mates together, happy. They would always have each other. Then about all the times she had been alone. Which was pretty much her whole life. She did want someone by her side always. The only thing she didn't want was her heart broken. Even as she had the thought, she knew he wouldn't do that to her. When she was about to pass out, his face alone had held her conscious. His smell comforted her and sharpened her senses. He healed her and told her things would be ok. And she believed it. She believed it with all her heart. Midnight trusted him completely. She trusted him with her life not two seconds ago. Not meeting his eyes, she mummers, "I'm glad your here." that was the only thing she could think of to say. No words came to her to describe what she just felt .Not meeting his eyes, fearful of what she would see there, she crawls over to a hollow at the base of a tree and curls up in the shadow; the only thing visible her glowing turquoise eyes beckoning him to her side, brimming with tears and emotion before closing them, realizing what she just did.
((i feel like that was a paragraph in twilight. it all just came to me. X) i feel like a poet XD))

He smiled at her, noticing the way she avoided his gaze, though didn't think much of it. He suspected she was simply tired and perhaps a little out of it. Some rest would do her good. So, he was glad when she curled up against the tree. Her eyes pleaded for him to join her. Perhaps she needed comfort and security. A broken wing maybe made her feel vulnerable? He knew it would for him. So, he moved closer, lying near her. "Don't worry, I'll make sure you're safe while you recover."
In truth, Ainoko was completely unaware of her thoughts or feelings developing for him. They had only just met, and if anything, Ainoko wanted to help her out. It was in his nature. He laid his head on his paws, eyes watching her briefly, then scanning the area, his senses alert for any movement or signs of others. But for now, he was content to chill. He closed his eyes, letting himself rest lightly. He couldn't doze off and miss something important.

Midnight felt helpless. 'This male is so clueless.' she thought. Angry that he misread her feeling, she curled up in a tight ball with her back to him. Why couldn't he tell? She wondered if all males were like this. After thinking it over, she felt embarrassed. What did she expect? They had just met, after all. She just hoped it didn't hit him anytime soon. Midnight hoped he thought they were friends, because thats what she thought they were. When she looked up through the roots, she was surprised to see how late it was. She yawned, and laid her head down. *Morning* Midnight woke up, but didn't open her eyes. Some of her puppyness came back, and she wanted to fool him into thinking she was asleep. It was going to be hard with her stomach grumbling, thought. She also wondered what he would do; wake her up, or let her be.
