Ainoko growled in response to Cercius, his golden eyes fierce. It seemed Midnight took her own stance, arguing she wasn't anyone's plaything. Well, he would have argued it. Perhaps this Cercius was trying to provoke them. Perhaps he was trying to get them to run. Well, they weren't doing the latter. Ainoko wondered if the other was trying to get him to initiate an attack. He wasn't too sure exactly what this wolf wanted.
"Enough playing around. This isn't a game." He was ready, his senses alert, for anything.

(( Screw it, I can roll with her hearing his thoughts. ))
Cercius stares at Midnight, oblivious to Ainoko's threat, startled by her words, "You can hear him, now hear me!" his mind yells, "I am in control now, not you!"
Cercius let's out a low hiss, his two minds warring silently within. "Thought-pusher..." he growls, taking a threatening step towards the younger wolf, a scarlet droplet dripping from his nose, "You did this to me..."

Midnight realizes she can hear his thoughts as easily as if he had spoken them aloud. With a flicker of her thoughts, she blocked the feral beast part from them both. Signaling to Ainoko to wait, her mind whispers, "What will help?" Then something else he said struck a cord within her, about the Otonami.... "Graal!" she explodes out loud before she could stop herself.
((Just had an evil-kinevil thought. i know Ainoko dosnt like her like that, but what if graal came along? His relationships are complicated to the point of love. maybe that's the push Ainoko needs....mwahaha. tell me watcha think))

OoC: Oh... sorry, Kicker! I got confused about what you were talking about since you put the thoughts in double quotations just like the out loud words DX I didn't realize what you meant until just now.... *feels slow* <.<; I'm used to thoughts being like in single quotations or italicized or something.... my bad.
iC:
He hadn't realized Midnight was reading Cercius' thoughts until he called her a mind-pusher. He supposed that made sense to him.. being what had happened earlier during his hunt. Still, he had a feeling this was about to take a very nasty turn and he heard Midnight's whisper in his mind. 'Transformation... or death.' he thought quite plainly.
He moved, trying to step in between Cercius and Midnight once again. "Leave her out of this. If you have any one to pick a bone with.. it's me." If Cercius didn't back off, he would feel his friend's safety threatened, and that was worth fighting for. Therefore, if the other wolf continued, he would initiate the fight, leaping toward him, fangs bared, a snarl issuing from his throat, and hoping to land a bite. Or if not, he would thrash his claws and leap back, leaping in for another attack.
Of course, that would all be avoided if Cercius left Midnight alone, but Ainoko had a feeling that's not how it would be.

(( Your choice, it would be a nice idea, to me, because it may jog the "good" part of Cercius, seeing Graal, another member of the Otonami. As to Graal loving Midnight, you know it's more of a paternal feeling of protecting her ;3 ))
Cercius stops short, just within Ainoko's pouncing distance, not quite within his own, a crazed smile spreading slowly across his mouth. "So it iiisss. Why would I attack a pup when I can fight YOU?" he says, taking another step towards Ainoko, the younger wolf forgotten. "Pin me down when I give you the signal!""Play time..."
(( Sorry for the long break between posts and the short post, I've been concentrating on revision, and it's hard to maintain my muse for 3 different characters >.<; ))

((well, pft, ya i know. I was telling Rely that. Duuuhhh. XD)) Midnight nodded at his request, although what he could do to help himself she had no idea. Waiting for the signal, she watched the scuffle ((hehe)) between the two, and waited.

OoC: Eh... Midnight, why do you keep editing your posts after I replied? DX Lol I make Ainoko respond and then I feel like I missed something for him to respond to...
Anyway... I think that's an interesting idea XD Why not? Bring him on in! The more the merrier and all that ^^
iC:
Midnight's shout of Graal went right past him, not something usual, but this wasn't a la-la circumstance either. His mind was entirely focused on a) protecting Midnight, and b) kicking this Cercius' wolf-hide. Perhaps it was a little strange, fighting a wolf who was fighting himself, but nonetheless, his friend was in danger and that was all he needed.
His golden-speckled lips were curled back in a snarl and his fur stood on end. He was glad when Cercius seemed to accept his challenge... but the other didn't exactly meet him in attack. Well, that was all fine... he wasn't going to waste his energy attacking again and again. No. He stood, head lowered, fangs bared, senses alert, muscles tensed, ready. He slowly moved, though not where Midnight might somehow be left unguarded. Even if Cercius had completely forgotten her in light of the fight, Ainoko would have no knowledge of such.
No more words were issued from the golden and white wolf's lips, for the time being. Instead, he only attacked and backed out again.

Cercius jumps back from Ainoko, a mad grin spreading across his face, "Yes! I can feel your anger!" He slinks slowly around Ainoko, trying to circle around, closer to the forest edge. "So, little toys, aren't you a tad bit out of your league? he snarls, baring his teeth at Midnight. "Nobody will save you from me now, you pathetic little-" he breaks off his words with a lunge, not towards her, as would be expected, but towards Ainoko, his scarlet mouth open in eager anticipation of fresh blood.

Midnight gasps. She decides. This is what living is about. This is what love is. This is doing something and not expecting anything in return, throwing yourself in the face of danger and laughing. You laugh because even if you die, you did it for someone you love, even if it wasn't necessary.
Even if they don't love you back.
She jumps in Cercius' path, throwing herself in front of Ainoko. Feeling teeth meet her neck, she isn't scared. For the first time in her life, she is at peace. She is going to die. But she doesn't care. She laughs. She screams.
It's a scream of fulfillment.

Oh! He was so ready for this. He wasn't going to egg Cercius on in banter, no. He wasn't that type of wolf. His muscles were tensed, his senses alert. His entire body was poised for the battle, fur on end, rigged. Cercius thought they were toys. He thought Ainoko was out of his league. He thought he was pathetic. Cercius had far under-estimated just who he was dealing with. Ainoko had a few surprises up his paw and Cercius was about to find out...
Or so Ainoko thought.
He was ready to meet his opponent as Cercius lunged toward him, Ainoko ready to lunge also, fangs bared. But before he got the chance, suddenly he saw a flash of black and Midnight was between them, falling to the ground, Cercius' fangs in her neck. He wasn't sure how to react, a sinking feeling coming to him. "Midnight!"
'Damnit! Why would you do something like that?!' his mind yelled. He was supposed to be the one protecting her... not the other way around!
He was pissed and anxious and afraid all at the same time. He was at an ultimatum: to use his healing to save Midnight... or to kill Cercius. He wished he could do both at the same time. But that was simply impossible. He chose; Midnight came first. He could hunt this wolf down till the day he died. But if Midnight died, she was gone forever.
All this happened in his mind in a split moment, and as Midnight's scream arose, he pounced, powerful legs shooting him through the air and he sought a collision with Cercius, his fangs seeking his flesh. Ainoko put a significant amount of strength behind his leap, enforcing it with his demon energy. If he hit his mark, it would not be a collision Cercius could just brush off like someone poking at his side. If he were successful, Cercius would be pushed a distance away, maybe even thrown through the air to land with a thud, depending on Cercius' own power, and once he was away from Midnight, Ainoko would focus all his energy on her wound.
His golden eyes glowed, the gem about his neck starting to swirl, tendrils of light flowing from it and surrounding Midnight's body. If successful, the glow would begin to emanate from her flesh and her body would even lift slightly from the earth. Slowly, her wound would begin to heal, restoring perfect health to her flesh.
Perhaps Cercius might intervene, and if so, he would find an electric shock ring through his body. Once the healing was done however, the electric shield would remain only around Midnight. Ainoko smiled, certain of his success, staring at Midnight, hoping for her to awake any moment and reassure him she wasn't dying. 'You're gonna be okay...' and then he felt the blackness coming. His legs shook and he collapsed. If Cercius was going to kill anyone, Ainoko now lay completely at his mercy, unconscious.
OoC: Lol yea it's fine XD I was just like... uh... whut? *dies*

Cercius' body stretches, mouth opening and eyes closing as his paws push the ground away. Time slows, the world fading to grey as the black wolf hangs in the air, silence engulfing him as time stops. "What is this treachery!?" "No treachery, simply a trick." "What have you done to me!? "You do this yourself."
Sound returns as a rush of wind, his eyes snapping open as Ainoko's body and teeth punch into his side, shooting agony through his ribs. "Fantastic." he thinks, being tossed aside. Although he could not simply shrug of either the impact or bite, he allows his body to loosen before hitting the ground, thankful to the shape changer for the aggression shown. And for the instance of change.
He slowly opens his mouth in a loose smile, for although the other Cercius had attempted to kill Midnight, he had not managed the final bite, the change always tensed their body, freezing the muscles in place, and they had not managed to bite the pup with any force, even if Ainoko had forced their teeth to tear at Midnight's neck, there would not have been any danger to her life. "Zancre Tor fos vosh denemba..." he breathes, lifting his head to look at the white and gold wolf, his tired eyes creasing back into familiar lines (( He said "Thank Tor for your mercy..." in Vulftung btw )) "You'll both be fine with help, have you learned your lesson yet?" he asks, turning to lick at the blood pooling from his side.
Graal sprints into the clearing, "Too late!" his mind hisses, looking at the black mess on the floor and the white wolf standing over Midnight. Shock penetrates his mind, paralysing him from paw to head. "Cercius?"

Midnight wakes up to the scent of her own blood. She stands groggily, then registers Graal and Cercius. She dismisses them, and crawls over to Ainoko. She lays next to him and gently grooms him. 'You saved my life....again. Why haven't I saved your's? She would lay, gently leaning on him, until he woke.

OoC: Wow... I just realized that it's on page 4 already lol and almost to page 5! *Slow* xD
iC:
Ainoko hadn't understood the Vulftung spoken by Cercius, except the reference to Tor. In any case, it went in one ear and out the other with his focus on Midnight. He only vaguely took in the rest as his focus dimmed. He would be out for some time, needing to restore his strength after so much energy. Saving a life had its price. Had his energy been used differently, as in battle with Cercius, it would have been different. But healing had its toll.
In any case, he would be out for several hours at the least, if not a couple days at most. What happened in the meantime would be mostly up to Midnight... well and the others on the scene.
((I didn't know if y'all wanted to roleplay anything because unless I skip time, Ainoko is going to be out for the time being <.<; ))
