"It's a raven," the fox corrected her. "They're a lot smarter than crows."

Katarina scowled, "Whatever, either way it's a bird of prey," she mummbled. She soon forgot about the others as she eyed the deer. She wasn't really that hungry, but she motioned for the hellhound to nourish himself.
She slunk away into the forest, practically disappearing within it. Her keen eyes were peeled for small prey she could snack on.

Andorra growled softly, saliva dripping from his half-open jaws. The deer raised its head, perhaps sensing danger, and that was when the hellhound leapt. He killed the animal swiftly, tearing out its throat and allowing its warm blood to spill out onto the dry grass. With a harsh, savage cry, the raven fluttered down from his shoulder and began to peck the deer's eyes out, in the manner of her kind.
Feral watched the hellhound for a moment, and then, revolted, scurried after Katarina. "I didn't mean to offend you," he said, worried that he had hurt his friend's feelings.

Katarina eyed him and smiled. "You didn't, I was just getting ticked off with whatever his name was." she said, wagging her tail. "Come on, let's go. We gave him what he wanted, so let's get out of here," she said, turning into a trott and heading off.
She was glad and content, and so she took a deep sigh. She looked around, with almost a mischievous gaze, a small, playful smile began to dance its way across her face. She wagged her tail and turned to a run, dashing playfully along. "You can follow if you want," she called over her shoulder, "I am going to the sea," she said.
The waves crashing onto rocks, or belowing over the sandy beach, was soon filling her ears. The salty smell, filling her nostrils and seaguls and other sounds filled her ears. She took them in for a moment, before trotting down and standing so that the water tumbled over her paws.

Feral glanced at her with interest, and followed, running swiftly to keep up with the femme. When they reached the shore, he stopped, staring at the seemingly endless expanse of the ocean with amazement. "I've never been here before," he said softly.

"Yeah, I love it here. It's peaceful, and hardly anyone is around, usually. It's fun to play around too," she said, backing up and then pouncing over incoming waves. "I know you aren't one for games, but as you may have noticed, I am very playful and take any fun I can get." she said, jumping over another wave.
She soon backed out, now playing tag with the water. Trying to leap away before water could tumble over her paws. When it did, she would dash into it, wagging her tail and then dash out, again trying to avoid it. Her tail wagged constantly in delete, as she then began barking and yipping happily.

Feral lay down, pushing his nose expirimentally into the warm sand. "Nice here," he said.

Katarina grinned. "Yeah, it is. Warm, relaxing, nice breeze so you don't get to hot, except for when the breeze is a wind, and is a warm one, but even then I usually don't mind." she watched him for a moment, and then trotted off a ways.
She stuck her nose to the ground, and began going around in random, different directions. She wagged her tail, sniffing and stopping to sniff an area before again moving on. She pulled her head up and frowned. "Where is that silly thing?" she asked herself looking around. As she did, she noticed something shining brightly in the sand. She moved curiously toward it, its light shining in her eyes, causing her to close them into narrow slits. Getting near it, she opened her eyes fully and sniffed it, gazing at it wondrously. She forgot what she had been looking for earlier and her attention was now fully on it. "I have never seen this before," she murmered, "What is it?" she asked, looking in Feral's direction, motioning for him to come to where she was and examine it, wagging her tail excitedly.

"I'm not sure," the small fox replied.

"Well, it sure is good at catching the light," she said, gazing at it. She reached her maw out and touched it lightly with her maw, jerking it away, she licked her nose and rubbed her snout. "Owwww, that hurt," she said. "It's hot," she added. She moved foward again. She gazed at it, closely. It was in a random form, with various edges. "It looks like a large clear rock," she said, looking through it. She laughed when she saw Feral through it, "And it makes things look wierd," she said, rolling around in the sand.
When she stood up, her brown fur looked more tanish colored until she shook all the sand that would come off out. She giggled.

Feral was intrigued by the strange object. "Is it something made by humans?" he asked. He didn't want to get close enough to smell it, whatever it was.

"I don't think so, because it doesn't smell like it." she said, again moving close to sniff it, but this time she didn't touch it. "I think it was made recently somehow," she murmered, looking at it intently. "Maybe someone wiser than us will know," she said, looking at it with furrowed brows.
"You know, I practically grew up on the beach, well, close to it, and we pups used to play on it all the time. I think I have seen things like this before. The Gamma in my previous pack said that it was something made by mixing sun with sand." she said with a shrug, "He said its something that starts with a 'g' but I can't remember.
She raised her head and looked at Feral. "Do you know of anyone that would have a clue?" she asked, cocking her head. She then looked at it again. "I wonder what would happen if I scratched it," she said, sticking out a claw and going towards it.

"Perhaps one of the older wolves," Feral suggested. "One who has been here longer than either of us."

She nodded, but didn't move. "Hold on, just give me a moment to think. I can probably remember with a little bit of time," she murmered, eyes fixed on the object.
She sat back, brows furrowed in thought. She closed her eyes, and tried to remember, tried to remember those days long ago, when she had found stuff similar to it. She remembered an incident quite like this. She was running on the beach, playing with her friends, when one had suddenly stopped, clutching her paw and whining. She remembered carrying her back to the pack, and the adults licking her paw and cleaning it. She then remembered a small sliver of the clear stuff, being pulled from her paw and placed on the ground. It was then burried and thought about. She thought hard, the memory not quite coming. They had learned what it was, and been instructed to look out for it whenever they ran along. Over the years they had forgotten about it, or placed it aside in their minds.
She still sat, trying to think. It was coming and she knew it. Why was she trying so hard to figure this out? she asked herself.

Feral sat, thinking, his bushy grey tail curled around his forepaws. Somewhere in the back of his mind there was a memory of this stuff... But that had been long ago. He couldn't remember it.
